Portkey V1.3.4 Is Live, Enabling Personalised Display of Tokens and Safer Connection to DApps

Blog Image

Dear Portkey community members,

We are delighted to announce that Portkey has been updated to V1.3.4 as of 13:00 AM (UTC), July 28. The most important enhancement in V1.3.4 is carried out on the security level, with a comprehensive smart contract review and update mitigating potential risks and greatly strengthening contract reliability.

Besides the technology, more than one section has been optimised within the app/extension, allowing users to: conveniently add custom tokens to their token list and be aware of the potential threats some DApps or projects bring and have more convenience while using the wallet..

Adding custom tokens

One of the key improvements in the latest version of Portkey is the ability for users to conveniently add custom tokens to their token list. As Portkey integrates with more projects and supports a growing number of tokens on our native chain, aelf, managing digital assets on Portkey becomes increasingly essential. In response to this, we have optimised the token display and allowed users to add the tokens of interest to their token list.

To add tokens to your Portkey token list, simply click on “Add Tokens” on the homepage. Most of the frequently used tokens have been listed, which means you can find the token names in the search bar and toggle them on. In the case that you couldn’t find the token you want to add, you can manually add custom tokens by clicking the “+” button located at the top right corner. Just enter the info required and click “Add” to have the token appear on your homepage. By enabling the addition of custom tokens, Portkey gives users greater freedom to personalise tokens displayed on their own token list.

Risk notices for less secure DApps and projects

With a growing number of projects available, we understand that security concerns may arise when visiting unfamiliar sites. To address this, Portkey has implemented a feature to detect risky sites and provide risk alerts to ensure a safer user experience.

Within the “Discover” section in Portkey app for both iOS and Android devices, you can easily click on any DApps or projects that pique your interest and visit their respective sites to establish connections. However, it is important to note that not all websites have the same level of security. Some sites may still use the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), which is less secure compared to the Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS). For the former, Portkey will pop up a risk alert but will not intervene in users’ access to the sites.

In addition to these notable changes, Portkey V1.3.4 also made improvements elevating your Web3 experiences which include enabling bookmarks for your preferred DApps, providing a record of your recent DApp interactions, and offering the convenience of scanning a site’s QR code and opening it in “Discover” directly. All these features are added to the “Discover” section, giving you a seamless and efficient way to navigate and interact with the DApps within the Portkey ecosystem. What’s more, the latest Portkey expands support for phone number sign-up in more countries, making crypto wallets accessible to a broader global audience.

Update to Portkey version 1.3.4 to explore all the features, enjoying the enhanced safety, convenience and efficiency that Portkey offers.
