Dear Portkey community members, We are happy to announce that Portkey has completed an update to V1.2.8 as of 9:00 AM (UTC), May 31. V1.2.8 improves user experience from several major aspects, including identifying country codes for phone number registration, displaying users’ own addresses on different chains for faster access, enabling quicker address saving in the “Recents” section, and so forth.
We know how irritating it is when users create an account using phone numbers and find that they have to manually select the country code. That’s why in Portkey V1.2.8, the IP address that you are using will be automatically detected to identify the corresponding code, saving you time from all the scrolling and finding. In the situation where it’s not detected, the default country code is +65 as in Singapore.
For Android users, they can now sign up and log in using their Apple IDs and they can also select Apple IDs as their guardian type when trying to add new ones. With this, the barrier between different devices is reduced.
After owning assets in Portkey, users may have the need to transfer tokens between their own accounts from the MainChain to the SideChain, and vice versa. That’s why we have added a “My address” section on the “Send” page. No matter which chains the users select to send their assets from, Portkey will detect that and display the address on the other chain. This way, cross-chain transfer between users’ own accounts is easier and quicker.
When users want to send tokens to others, they can click “Send” and select from the “Recents” section where there is a list of addresses they have recently interacted with. In Portkey V1.2.8, this feature is further upgraded so that users can swiftly add these addresses as contacts or view their transaction records, all can be done in the “Recents” section without leaving this page. Also in this section, users can directly proceed to the blockchain explorer to check more activities of the selected address. Besides, to make this section more efficiently useful, transactions are filtered so that those associated with social recovery won’t be displayed there. Users can have a direct glimpse of their transaction activities, i.e. transfers and cross-chain transfers.
