Dear Portkey community members,
The exciting cross-chain transaction feature, supporting multiple tokens, is just live on Portkey and can be accessed easily through the “Deposit” button. Powered by eBridge, this feature empowers users to effortlessly transfer leading cryptos such as ELF, ETH, BNB, USDC, USDT, and DAI across major networks, including aelf, Ethereum, and BSC.
eBridge, a DApp incubated by aelf Ventures, stands as the pioneer cross-chain bridge on aelf, dedicated to serving the aelf community and users interested in migrating to aelf. Currently, it has two entrances, one is through its website, and the other is via Portkey.
Regardless of the platform you choose, the experience remains consistent. For more details about this project, you can refer to eBridge’s official announcement.
To access eBridge within Portkey, simply click the “Deposit” button on the home screen, then select “Bridge” from the menu. After reviewing and agreeing to the terms, you’ll be directed to eBridge.
Receive Tokens on aelf from Other Networks
Upon entering eBridge, your Portkey wallet will be seamlessly connected to the “To” section, automatically designated as the recipient address. If you intend to proceed with the transfer in this direction, begin by selecting the “From” chain, choosing between Ethereum and BSC.
Next, decide whether you wish to receive tokens in your MainChain or SideChain address, and specify the type of token for the transfer.
Subsequently, click the “Connect” button in the “From” section to prompt the wallet menu. Here, you can choose from a range of wallets supported by WalletConnect, including Metamask and Zerion.
Please note: Ensure that the designated wallet is installed on your device. This is crucial for Portkey/eBridge to activate the corresponding wallet and establish a connection with the “From” wallet.
Once the “From” wallet is successfully connected, input the transfer amount and click “Send” to initiate the transaction. The estimated arrival time varies based on the selected chain, and you can find detailed information in the notes provided on eBridge.
Following the specified duration, the tokens will be automatically reflected in your Portkey account, and you can review the transaction details in the activity section below.
Send Tokens from aelf to Other Networks
If you want to transfer assets from your Portkey account to Ethereum or BSC, simply click the arrow icon at the center to change the direction of the transfer.
Similar to receiving tokens in Portkey, you’ll need to specify whether you are sending from MainChain or SideChain, select the “To” chain, and choose a token.
However, in contrast to receiving tokens in Portkey, you have the flexibility to either connect the “To” wallet or manually enter the recipient address.
If you don’t have any wallets with the “To” address logged in on your device, or you’re transferring tokens to someone else’s wallet, entering the recipient address is the ideal choice. Choose freely based on your specific needs and situations!
Once all the required information is provided, click “Send” to initiate the transaction. It’s worth noting that transferring from aelf to other networks requires one additional step to manually claim the tokens.
After the transaction is confirmed on the aelf network, a “Receipt ID” will be generated. The recipient should visit eBridge, either through its site or via Portkey, connect the “To” wallet in the “To” section, and select the ID which will be automatically provided. Then, the recipient can click “Receive” to receive the tokens on the destination network.
Update/Download
If you already have the latest version installed on your device, the above features will be automatically updated in the Portkey App/extension with no need for manual operation.
