We are delighted to announce that Portkey has completed its update to V1.3.1 as of 9:00 AM (UTC), July 4. The latest version introduces the long-waited off-ramp service which complements the previously launched on-ramp service and enables users to sell their crypto possessions for fiat money. On/off-ramping solutions pave the way for asset conversion between real-world currencies and digital world tokens. The capability to serve the need for crypto-to-fiat exchange demonstrates Portkey’s advancement in facilitating the Web2 to Web3 migration.
Exchanging crypto and fiat money can be challenging for Web2 users, especially when they have limited knowledge of this industry. That’s why Portkey has joined forces with Alchemy Pay, providing convenient on/off-ramp services. What’s more, the Portkey team is committed to expanding partnerships with more service providers to ensure a smooth Web3 journey for you.
Currently, Portkey’s on/off-ramp services support ELF, the native token of the aelf network on which Portkey is built. The default fiat currency for these services is USD, but users have the flexibility to manually choose from a wide range of other currencies accepted in over 100 countries.
In Portkey V1.3.1, you can cash out your crypto assets via the “Sell” button, which is accessible in multiple ways: 1. Click “Buy” on the home screen and then switch to “Sell”; or 2. Select ELF token and click “Sell” on its info page. Once you are on the “Sell” page, please first select the fiat money you want to receive and enter the amount of ELF tokens you want to sell. After confirming, you will be directed to AlchemyPay’s ramp page where you can follow the instructions and complete the conversion. And vice versa for the buying process.
Note: The price at which the trading is settled depends on real-time data and refreshes every 15 seconds.
What’s worth mentioning is that Portkey’s range of supported cryptocurrencies available for users to buy and sell will continue to expand in the near future. This expansion will occur as Portkey supports more cryptocurrencies through cross-chain bridges, introducing more stablecoins and mainstream tokens. Additionally, as Portkey integrates with more decentralized applications (DApps) and lists their tokens, the crypto options for users will further increase. Meanwhile, Portkey is also working on integrating with more on/off-ramp service providers to give users a wider range of options when it comes to entering and exiting the digital asset space.
